"Mercury Thermometer and Spygmomanometer are need to be banned?"

When I was still in UST Hospital and was training in the clinical department. They are using already a digital thermometer and Spygmomanometer. It is much safer than using a mercury made gadgets.

The Department of Health (DOH) may recommend to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) the banning on the importation of mercury-containing products in the Philippines.

In a telephone interview, Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral reiterated that mercury is highly toxic so the use of any product containing the substance should be prohibited.

“I think products like fluorescent lamps have mercury. We will propose to the DENR that these products be banned. We will see,” she said.

Mercury is a potent neurotoxin that can affect the kidney and the nervous, digestive, respiratory and immune systems.

In 2008, the DOH issued Administrative Order (AO) No. 21 imposing the “gradual phaseout of mercury in all Philippine health care facilities and institutions.”

The AO is in line with the stand of the World Health Organization in 1991 that a “safe level of mercury exposure, below which no adverse effect,” has never been established.

Cabral reminded all hospitals, infirmary, lying-in clinics and other health facilities that they have until December this year to comply with the phaseout.

“The DOH has not been registering thermometer and blood pressure apparatus with mercury (because of that AO). We want to remind health care facilities that they have until this year to switch to alternative devices,” she said.

The two medical devices that contain mercury are thermometers and sphygmomanometers used to take the blood pressure of a person.

The non-governmental organization Health Care Without-Southeast Asia, which has been advocating for the ban, gave assurance that digital alternatives for these devices are easily available and affordable.

By next year, Cabral said there should be no mercury devices in the Philippines so health care facilities should have already started phasing them out.

Pero di nga bakit wala ka ka-date? hehe. tsk. tsk. masamang pangitain yan. Ilang taon na ang lumilipas, wala ka pa ding ka valentino? panu na ang pangaral ng simbahang katoliko “HUMAYO KA AT MAGPARAMI”. Ai, mali pala.. hindi pala nila ibig sabihin na humayo ka at magparami ng syota. Nemen!! wag ka magmukmok jan, kung wala kang ka-valentine’s day, e di wala! eh anu bang paki nila diba? eh kanya-kanyang trip yan. Isipin mo na lang, halloween ngayon. haha. Walang basagan ng trip. Magsuot tayo ng black shirt, magpantalon, tapos pagupit tayo ng hair na one sided. Yung mala-emo. Maglagay tayo ng makapal na eyeliner. Magpatugtog tayo ng My chemical romance-THE BLACK PARADE. Lagyan mo ng vicks yung mata mo, para instant luha. Kunwari affected ka sa kanta. char!.

Kung ayaw mo naman ng ganitong trip, at talagang kahit anung gawin mo ay ramdam mong Valentine’s day. Eh di, go out in a mall–TIGNAN ko lang kung hindi ka lalo manlumo! maiinggit ka sa mga bf/gf na naglalakad na magkaholding-hands, na may dalang bouquet of roses. Oh diba sabi ko naman sayo? sa bahay ka na lang. Sa totoo lang, walang dahilan para malungkot ka. Kasi hindi ka naman nagiisa, madami din naman single jan na katulad mo. Ang totoo nyan, ayon sa survey na gawa-gawa ko, 99% ng mga Filipino ay walang pakialam sa valentine’s day. Oo, umikot ka sa blogosperyo at mapapansin mo yung post nila.. kung hindi xa nagpapakasenti, nagpopost ng mga love life tips, quotes, poems at short story. "Plants Vs. Zombies"

I’m so addicted with this game!. haha. I almost forgot na may blog pala ako. Nakakatamad din kasi magblog-hop. Ayan, kewnto ko na lang yung paglalaro ko ng plants vs. zombies. Matagal ko na ito naririnig sa mga kaibigan ko, pero kasi hook-na-hook ako sa Cafe world. Syempre lagi ko nga inaasar yung mga nagfafarmville. Wala lang mas madami pa kasi akong natatanggap na gift sa farmille kesa sa cafe world.

Back to the topic, tinanong ko kay Karmi kung maganda ba ang Plants vs. Zombies, akala ko kasi meron nun sa facebook. Sabi niya maganda daw, binili niya daw kasi yun. Naghanap-hanap ako sa internet at nakita kong gawa ito ng POPCAP at mahal nga yung full version. Kaya nagtry muna ako ng free-trial for 1 hour. Ang haba na ng level ko ng bigla ako naputol sa paglalaro. Badtrip!!! kaya imbes na i-purchase ko yung laro. Naghanap ako ng Free downloadable site. Uso naman ang hack sa internet diba? sa mga di nakakaalam mahilig ako mag-hack.

Apat na oras bago ako nakahanap ng full version. Oo matagal! kasi matagal din ang internet kbps ko. Pero kung mabilis sana yun, mga 1 hour lang siguro tapos naku magdownload. Ayun na nga, naglaro-laro na ako. At ito ang mga bagay na pwede ko ishare para sa inyo.

"Night Out with Girls on a Sunday Night"

Yesterday we went with my 2 girlfriends in Trinoma mall. We were drove by edgar, who is arliza’s bf. He doesn’t come with us because, he wanted us to enjoy our last get together *which is good*. Louanne will go back to Maryland States on 27. She just took up the local board of nursing here in the Philippines and then NCLEX in the states. We planned to watch avatar, because we heard some good reviews about this movie. James Cameron is the only director I know in Hollywood; you know I’m not a movie freak. We saw that the ticket for Avatar cost 300/400php, because it’s a 3D movie. We don’t want to waste so much money because we’re going to Thomas Morato after the movie flick. Anyway, we choose to watch Legion since it was a good movie too. I saw the trailer on TV and I suggested it to them. We bought a box of 6 krispy kreme and taters Nachos flavor Popcorn. We also bought some drinks in the grocery store of trinoma.

In the movie house, we felt bored in the beginning because we didn’t get the concept at first. Warning: I’m going to tell the story, so skip this paragraph if you are planning to watch the movie.

Do you read that part? It was a long story but I just cut it short. I like the movie so much. After we watched Legion, we went to different stall and take a look to all its items. We went to Zara and Topshop, we are like woooh!!! The price is right only if you are like going to a party. A freaking sando that cost 1,500php? whatta fuck!.

Anyway @ 7pm we went to Timog and then look for a good restaurant. We didn’t find any, so we took another taxi to take us in Thomas Morato. There we sat and drink coffee in Coffee Bean.

We were talking until 10pm and then we were bored so we decided to have a little shot of drink in Chilis Margarita Restau just near Zirko. We ordered for 3 Calis and Boneless Buffalo wings with Caesar salads top with white cheese.

12pm we called Arliza’s bf to fetch us. I arrived 1 in the morning. It was really my first time to go home so late, but I really have fun with these girls. Arliza and Louanne are my closest friends in Highschool so we will miss each other, esp. Louanne. How many years we will see each other again? We are all uncertain about it. I envy her because she doesn’t have to work that hard to go to states. When will be the time that I’m going to see you Mr. Sam?. Von voyage my friend, til I meet you in the states soon.

Hindi ko alam pero simula ng nag-aral ako mula elementarya hanggang ng matapos ako sa kolehiyo ay hindi na tumama-tama ang spelling ng pangalan ko. Alam kong mali ang spelling ng pangalan ko. Pero konting respeto naman!. Huwag ng pagpilitan ang spelling na alam mo sa spelling na nakasulat sa birth certificate ko. Kung matatandaan ninyo kinuwento ko sa inyo dito kung bakit nagkaganyan ang spelling ng pangalan ko, sa mga hindi pa nakakabasa-iclick mo lang ITO.

Hindi porket licensed nurse ka na, ay pwede ka ng tumusok ng pasyente ng mga karayong. Kailangan ay sumailalalim ka sa isang Didactic Training para maging lisensyado. Excited pa naman ako na makita ang IVT CARD ko na 3 buwan din bago ko nakuha. June ako nagtraining at september ako nag-completion, 3 buwan pa bago ito makuha mula sa ANSAP( Association of Nursing Service Administrators of the Philippines). Ng tanggapin ko ang certificate at Card ay ito ang tumambad sa harapan ko:

Wrong spelling again?!!!. Kinausap ko si Chief Nurse, at ang sabi niya pwede ko naman daw papalitan. Pero maghihintay na naman ako ng mga 3 buwan ulit?. Huwwwaaaat!!!!. 3 buwan? ok ka lang?. Siyempre hindi naku maghihintay muli ng ganung katagal. Kaya sabi ko na lamang ay papalitan ko na lang sa 20** kapag ipaparenew ko na lang ulit. Naisip ko na baka kapag sa Lung Center ako nagpunta eh doon mapapalitan agad ang aking IVT CARD. Pero di ko pa nagagawang tumawag kasi tinatamad pa ako.

Mabuti na lamang ay tama ang spelling ng licensya ko dahil mas importante iyon higit sa anu pa man.

Noong isang linggo nabasa ko sa blog ni miss vain, na may nataggap daw siyang free sample lotions galing sa Johnson and Johnson. Dahil mahilig ako sa mga sample na products at dahil kuripot ako, sinubukan kong bisitahin ang website na ibinigay niya. Nagsign-up lang ako ng Pangalan, address, telepono at email address. Yes! Naman napakanta talaga ako. Haha. Ang matagal ng pinakahihintay ng lahat, ang aking pagbabalik. Ngayong ding araw na ito ay ipinadiriwang ko ang aking kaarawan. Sinabayan pa ng cutting of red ribbon ng bago kong blog. Lumipad na ako ng host. Di lingid sa inyong kaalaman na halos 2 buwan akong di nakapag-update dahil sa sinapit ng painuminmoko. Nagupload ako ng theme na may kasamang virus, di ko akalain na kasama yun sa free package kapag nag dodownload ka ng theme. Ginawa na namin lahat ng paraan para maalis ang virus/malware, ilang beses ng ininstall ni Arvin ang aking wordpress. Ngunit mukang cancer stage 4 na ang sinapit ng aking blog. Ang bawat minuto ay dapat nating icherish ang lahat ng memories. Ang kahapon ay hindi na muling maibabalik, kahit baligtarin mo pa ang mundo. Ang lahat ng nasabi mo na ay hindi mo na maaari pang bawiin. Sa bawat araw na ikaw ay gumigising dapat kang magpasalamat dahil buhay ka pa. Official nominated ang blog na ito sa darating na Philippine Blog Awards. Pero kanina ko lang nalaman na bukas na pala ang balota kung saan maaari mo ng iboto ang blog na iyong napupusuan. Sa totoo lang hindi ko nakahiligan sumali sa mga awardings sa pitong taon kong pagsusulat. Para sa akin kasi lahat naman tayo ay panaho mapili man tayo o hindi. Hindi mo naman kailangan kasing ipangalandakan sa blogosperyo na magaling ka. Hindi nakukuha ang galing sa taon na tinagal mo sa blogging. Maaaring hindi lang nila napapansin ngunit mas may kwenta pa ang sinasabi mo kesa dun sa taong puro pagyayabang ang ginawa simula ng tumuntong siya sa blogosperyo. Ayos lang na gumamit ka ng mga jargon words na halos duguin mo na ang ilong ng mga nagbabasa kahit di mo pa sila nasasapak. Kesa yung wala ka ng ginawa kung hindi iparamdam sa mga tao na ikaw lang. ikaw lang at ikaw lang gets mo? At ang tingin mo sa amin ay level down. Level down at never nag level up.

Naaalala ninyo pa ba ang Tribute campaign: senior bloggista na ipinakalat ko. Para sa mga taong nakakaintindi ng essence ng tribute na yun. Hindi po iyon tribute para sa mga senior citizen. Ipinababatid nun na lahat ng bagong blogger ay welcome na isulat ang anu mang nasa isipan nila. Sa mga blogger na umabot na ng isang taon ay malaking achievement ng maituturing ang kontribusyon nila sa blog world. Umabot ka man ng 1 taon o hinde maituturing ka pa ring isang blogger sa mata ng mga nakakaunawa ng tunay na kahulugan ng blogging. Ang tribute campaign ay bukas pa din sa mga nais lumahok. Basahin lamang ang mga guidelines na matatagpuan dito.

At sa darating na blogger’s choice award. Congratz sa lahat ng mananalo. Hindi mananalo ang blog ko sa inyo kasi katuwaan lang ang pagsali ko. Gusto ko lang ilagay yung widget sa gilid.
