"Oath Taking Ceremony For New Professional Nurses"

This is the much awaited for all newly Registered Nurse’s, I think. To present ourselves in front of the Chairman of the board, members of board of nursing and officers of the Philippine Nurses Association. After almost 2 months of preparation, we are now taking our oath to our master “dear lord”, to our fellow countrymen and beloved country-Philippines.

Just of today April 7, 2009, 8 a.m at the SMX Convention Center(Mall of Asia Pasay City) half of the Registered nurses for the 2nd batch out of of 35,455 who passed the board exam, are now solemnly swear to serve the people of our lord.

I got up 3am in the morning, not because I’m so excited but because I usually move so slow. I have 1 hour and 15 mins. to do everything(eat, take a bath and dress up). So my mom always woke me up early just to do all my necessity. Just when we arrived in the SMX Convention Center, there is just a few students who are scattered around the place. The line wasn’t that long, so we are able to choose our seats in front. Better for good view and for reception. As usual, it never starts at exactly 8 am. Always Filipino Time. So we have taken our pictures inside and out and looking for long lost classmates. Unfortunately because of so many students who are in white dress(gala) and polo, we haven’t saw any of my bsn IV-C classmates except for one who I’ve saw early in the front line-raechel (She is my groupmate in Group 1 for 2yrs during our duties). We texted our friends, yet it was too late that the oath taking ceremony will start in few seconds. So we took our chairs and wait for it to start.

The first was the entrance of colors lead by the CAT’s of Adamson’s University, then the start of Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas(Philippine National Anthem). Next is prayer for nurses. There was a few words for opening remarks lead by Hon. Yolanda C. Arugay, followed by Hon. Marco Antonio C. Sto. Tomas who presented the inductees. We stand up upon calling the names of our schools. I was actually laughing to myself because I came from two schools. So when he called Far Eastern University, I was actually teasing my friend, raechel who also been in FEU for 2 years. Then of course, we stand up when the University of Perpetual Help Manila was called. I graduated here so I’m proud of it. Proud that I was nourished with KSA(knowledge, skills and attitudes) *lols*. We look around and saw that we are scattered, yet we are so many. We are 418 who passed, good at least. Next was message and oath for professionals lead by one and only head of the BON– chairperson Hon. Carmencita M. Abaquin. It was followed by keynote address by Josefina A. Tuazon R.N, DrPh (dean, College of Nursing of UP Manila). She given us some inspirational words. How she been through with all those awards with her service here in the Philippines. I noted her last words for us.

first– value of hardwork and diligents
2nd– value of professionalism and integrity
3rd– value of service(helping other person, hospitals, profession)
4th– value of nationalism or patriotism.

It was followed with the intermission number performed by Adamson’s University Choral Group. Ms. Tuazon was awarded for her excellent achievements in her field. The presentation of awards for topnotchers was also been given. There was this one topnotcher (Top 7) who is so agaw-eksena, she arrived late to received her awards. So people are screaming out loud and clapping hands–the pang-inis thing. Anyway we also take our Florence Nightingale pledge and Philippine Nurses Association Oath. Closing remarks was given by Hon. Amelia B. Rosales followed by the exit of colors, and then the Recessional. Picture ever.

"My head on April Fool's Day"

Just came back from the grave. *kiddos* you miss me? Sorry guys! I haven’t update ’til April 1 strikes.. I missed visiting your sites. So I promised to visit and comment as much as I can. This is only the 1st time that I felt that I have to give myself some break from blogging, oh. pls! don’t count those days that I disappear because of my school stuff.
